NCCS is pleased to announce the receipt of a grant of $4,975.00 from The Foundation Trust to increase counseling capacity to Spanish speaking clients; and to develop an anger management curriculum for the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Queer (LGBQ), and the Transgender/Gender Non Conforming (TGNC) communities.

The funds will be used to pay for Spanish language immersion classes for a seasoned clinician to advance their abilities in speaking and writing the Spanish language; and to sit for an internationally acknowledged proficiency examination.   This will allow NCCS to provide more counseling services to children and families in the Spanish speaking community.

The funds will also be used to adapt the 12-week Anger Management Curriculum originally developed by Outlook Associates, Inc. for the LGBQ and TGNC communities.  The curriculum will be developed and implemented by clinicians with experience and familiarity working with LGBQ and TGNC clients.

The Foundation Trust (TFC) is a private philanthropic foundation with a regional focus on New England and special focus on Greater Boston.  TFC’s mission is to support the ongoing work of small to medium-sized non-profit organizations that provide vital services to under-resourced populations that larger charitable foundations may overlook. TFC has four priority funding tracks: Overcoming Life Adversity;  Promoting Wellbeing & Healthy Development Restoring Dignity & Quality of Care;  and Preserving New England's Cultural & Environmental Heritage.

We are pleased to announce that The Rockland Trust Charitable Foundation board has awarded a $2,500 grant to NCCS in support of the Life Hacks for Teens Counseling Group program at Somerville's Alternative Middle and High School Next Wave/Full Circle.  This grant will support our work in continuing these mindfulness and cognitive behavioral therapy based at Next Wave/Full Circle through the 2019-2020 academic year.
